About Nebi Park
Designed and built over a span of 35 years with community input by the City of Dover, Nebi Park is located on 3.5 acres of the Cochecho River waterfront. It houses a 2,300 square foot pavilion, an outdoor plaza, and has a public paddle dock as well as plenty of green space, seating, walkways, and areas for public art and recreation.
As a space meant for all to enjoy, it is completely accessible and offers public restrooms. The park references its location and honors the area’s Abenaki heritage through its name. “Nebi,” is the Abenaki word for “bend in the river.” While visiting, you may spot some of the incredible wildlife- from birds like osprey, belted kingfishers, and bald eagles to the many native plant species cultivated within and growing around the park.
About Us
Paul and Maya started Cochecho River Recreation in 2026 - at the same time they got married. They both wanted to share their love of nature and community with the town of Dover, and were thrilled when the opportunity to do that in Nebi Park came about.
Paul’s first job was working as a dock staff at a boat house in high school. He has always loved the outdoors and has known that connecting people to the beauty and peacefulness of nature through outdoor adventure like kayaking is his passion since his first summer at the boat house. He has spent the last 20 years pursuing that passion through his work as a small business owner, nature center manager, and outdoor leader. This opportunity to run a small business of his own is a dream come true, a milestone of success, and an opportunity to inspire future generations of nature enthusiasts.
Maya spent her childhood spending hours exploring the creeks by her house and quickly fell in love with kayaking (and Paul) when she moved to New England.
Both Paul and Maya look forward to helping make the Cochecho waterfront a place for the Dover community to come together to connect with each other, cultivate love for nature, and enjoy peace near the heart of their city.
